The point is you get out of your car and go on your walk, hike, or backpacking trip. Just because you take the car to get there doesn't mean you have to have anything to do with the car when you arrive.
Also, quit bitching about what you don't have. I live in NE Ohio. We don't have mountains, deserts, huge cliff faces, or the ocean but we've got plenty of wooded areas and hills at least. And you know what? I'll make the best of it even when we have a foot and a half of snow.
Going /out/ is easy and you guys are just making it harder than it really needs to be.
