>>2125017Yeah, the whole top of the mountain is blown to fist size rock. There are abandoned cabins, scrap, and cart lines. There is a mine shaft a little bit down the slope where I took this pic. There was still quite a bit of snow covering the trail up the quarry, I had to scramble quite a bit cutting switchbacks to the summit, which was a good thrill. It is on an NF access road that is rough to drive on, even with 4x4 I ended up pussying out and parked and walked up the road which only took like 40 min to the quarry. Unlike the person you quoting from I ignored the no trespassing signs. I figured I was still early enough in the year to not run into anybody. I am going back there in a few weeks to visit some fire watches on Mt. Greylock to the SE and the Custer Firewatch further SE. They were both still snow covered in snow and I didn't bring any cleats or anything. Explore Idaho!
