Minor update:
The massive amount of squash and pumpkin vines turned the main garden into a jungle to the point that I couldn't even weed eat around it. Next season I'm not planting any vine plants in that garden expect for tomatoes. The season has dried up and everything is crispy and ultra hot. Perfect for tomato picking weather. The gardens have produced enough to can 67 quarts of tomatoes and are still producing for the most part. I have several younger vines coming on in other locations to make up for the rainy blight loss of the older plants.
The volunteer tomatillos are going nuts and I'll have tons to harvest later in the fall. I need to weed out the beds again. I've been pretty lax since I couldn't even step into most sections due to the vines. The pumpkins are not doing as well as last season, I think that is due to the terrible weather this season. Last season was so amazing that I even traded away one truck load to family members for stuff they grow. The mint plants I've moved around from the wild are doing very well, especially the spearmint and peppermint.
It may look terrible right now, but there's still a ton of food in there. I haven't even begun to dig up the potatoes yet. Some purple potatoes have resprouted into new plants already.
