There is mallcop tryhard, but cranky veterans get even tryhardier. Nobody really gives a shit so long as you're not buying purple hearts at the swap meet.
More directly on topic, I do 12 miles daily in a pair of Adidas tacticals for USPS. The soles are a little soft, but otherwise brilliant boots. They discontinued the midrise pair, though, so maybe try their regular hikers too.
