It's just warm enough that using shad fished in the channels feeding into my lake is producing surprising results.
What I'm doing is taking shad (Both live and dead), rnning a hook through the mouth and out the stomach, and casting it along the channel. I get a mix of catfish and Saugeye. Much higher catch rates than using the other preferred early spring saugeye baits.
