Excuse the brainlet question, but how does one keep their line tight in the water? Using mono on a spincaster, and fairly new to fishing, but looking around the local pond I see other guys with almost clothesline tight lines. I try to reel in to bring in the slack but that results in just pulling my line in, instead of tighting in up. My line isn't coiling, but just kinda free flowing in the wind.
Do I just need more weight on the bottom?
