I can't stand National Parks, don't care how much they charge. I avoid them like the plague. Just the label brings in the hoards of tourists. I used to be able to climb Half Dome in Yosemite on a whim. Now you have to get reservations six months in advance. I haven't been there since about 1983 or '84. Good memories from old times but I don't miss the place. Since leaving California 23 years ago, I have been to our local National Park, Yellowstone, exactly once. Been there, done that, never again.
