>>2495464I don't live near there, but from what I've seen in visits to both the Sierras and the Rockies, the Sierras are more impressive. Lake Tahoe alone blows away 95% of the US, even not being wilderness. The actual /out/ areas I went to, like Mount Rose Wilderness or Granite Chief Wilderness, aren't even the best of that region, and they still impressed me more than, say, Lost Creek Wilderness in Colorado. I'm also a big fan of the constant sunshine in the Sierras.
But I haven't visited any of the major national parks in either region, so maybe those would change my opinion.
