If you're going to go through the trouble of getting out there and you want the full experience, may as well get a drop in Katmai Bay then hike the pass and through the entire valley. Very few people have ever done this but it is very awesome (and pretty extreme). Only do it if you know what you're doing especially when it comes to crossing rivers.
