I've been tempted to thin down the hammer end of my estwing camper's axe to eliminate that sideways kick it gets when you're cutting deep into a "V" notch or flat with the trunk while limbing branches, It's a chopper not a splitter anyway so I don't think It'd negatively affect it's cutting ability too much.
