>Only issue on tent is generally cost.Yeah in theory (since I haven't practiced it) I like the modularity of tarp / bivy set up, since if one component fails (zipper on bivy or hole in tarp) you can replace just that component, but if your tent gets FUBAR'd, you have to buy a whole new tent.
I'm not sure if I wanna go 8'x10' or 8.5'x8.5', leaning toward a square as the flying diamond seems like a killer pitch for space optimization if you sleep along the diagonal (smaller/lighter tarp, but the diagonals between 8.5x8.5 and 8x10 are close, only 9.42" shorter).
