They went a bit consoomer a few years back though and moved production from NZ to China.
Alpine tents, sleeping bags, and AzTec fabric packs are still solid. The rest is ok but more Kathmandu quality. It’s all well designed but only the items above still last well. Cheaper though. I have a Prophet goretex jacket from ’02 that’s only now nearing replacement. The new ones I’d give 2yrs regular use. Cost $899 back then. Got a Sanctuary sleeping bag on sale a couple of years ago along with the XPD down jacket. They’re both great. Spent 3hrs standing around in 5c wind today drinking beer, was toasty warm in the jacket. Sleeping bag in central Otago, -15, was sweating zipped up, freezing unzipped, couldn’t win. See pic.
