>>2789259follow up: came from Finland but made in China
>>2791850Forget about it. Cutting thorny vines with a machete is pretty much impossible, they'll just bend out of the way. The only way to really cut them is with a hook (scythe, swiss billhook etc.), and only while pulling backward.
I tried:
>scythe: I cut my finger super fucking deep like a retard while sharpening this shit and the scar still hurts my bones when it's rainy>swiss bill-hook: it's maybe my favorite tool but sometimes it's just too short and goddam curvybest thing so far:
softly bind the cluster of thorny vines emerging from a single root around my hand in a heavy duty thick-ass leather glove and precautionously pull the whole thing out like a motherfucker
>That's a cold steel machete, and they're crap.Ok I got mine and it's thicc, it's black, it's kinda heavy but I like it
could be maybe a tiny bit longer but it's already the size of my thigh so it's not too awkward with the sheath so I like it
grip is black plastic and comfy and I'll put a lanyard on it soon I think
>cold steel doesn't sharpen their blades properlywell that was obviously not the case this time as the blade cut easily through my leather gloves right out of the box
I really feel like I can fight a boar now or hack someone's leg or get malaria while slicing giant anacondas
>less than 20$I had to overpay twice this price for mine but it seems to be possible to find one for pretty cheap on sale as it's apparently discontinued
no regret
