Find the unpressured spots. It’s so hard to catch good fish at the popular lake at a park or a canal that the nogs have fished out. Go find some places with “No Trespassing” signs.
Also summer sort of sucks for LMB, the water is so warm that you need to get em deep or get them when a cold front and storm is rolling in or right at dusk when they come up to eat.
Pic related is a snakehead from a canal behind some moving and storage place that you would never see unless you worked there. If I fish that same canal system along the walking trail and bike path, I won’t get shit but maybe some 8” largemout.
