also get some thicker logs or the fire will burn out quite fast. (or just refuel very often) BBQ coal glows forever. a wood fire will be gone a lot faster or at least suffer in cooking speed.
If you need fire starting help use, if avaliable brich bark, its so full with oil it will even burn wenn its wet.
