Land has a limited, finite source of fertility and nutrients. a sappling being only a few inches will soon be 100 feet. in order for it to grow, it takes nutrients from the ground and puts into the bark, limbs, leaves. from the top of that tree to the bottom of that tree is WATER, CARBON, NPK. everything that was in the ground is now up in the tree.
you then cut it down and sell it. yeah, that is NOT sustainable. you are moving the fertility off the land.
you cut it down in leave ok, that works
you burn it ok that works too.
