i lived on a federal management area for a little over a year. busted once for trespass but went back.
I found a place that had an old abandoned town, then was flooded out when the army corps of engineers made a reservoir and dam system. Some old road beds are still there and i found an old hunting cabin.
I was smart and stashed food and supplies far from where i slept. so when i got busted they just thought i was sleeping, not LIVING there. Upon release i went back and all my shit was still there.
Parked a car at an abandoned parking lot with a "for sale" sign on it. no one thought shit, looked perfectly natural. no one called in the abandoned car.
I fished mostly for food. It was a wildlife management area too so during hunting season i could shoot real guns (not slingshot or air rifle) withoutu seeming odd.
Big tips: no lights at night unless absolutely necessary.
Keep caches of supplies hidden and wrapped/buried in tarps.
Learn to fish.
Common sense.
Pic related, its where i lived. X is the shack, circle is pond/where i hid my shit, and the dotted lines are old road beds from the old town.
