I think this is a great deal that you have found. I have had no problems at all with my pack. There aren't a whole lot of features on the thing, but it surely gets the job done. All of the straps are very sturdy as well as the fasteners. I love how I can put my fishing pole underneath the side pockets and secure it right into the cup holder pouch. This would probably also work for a 22 but i've never tried it.
The only issue with such a big size, I would say, is that you tend to bring more shit with you. So try to avoid that.
