When my friends and I did it, the weather was not optimal and we took an alternative entrance to bypass the security guard and hiked the stairs in broad day light. It's extremely steep and one could easily slip and fall to their death. If I were to do it again, I'd probably wear a climbing harness and gloves.
Actually the two people I mentioned above who went missing were on the stairway. Imma start a thread over the next day or so about this Na Pali Coast hike. People die on that one too.
