>>500759Haha no, too scared! Decided it wouldn't be wise for just our second walk of the year with heavy packs on, still warming up and all that. We came down the gentler Scales Fell next to it. Might have been a different story if we were heading up that way, I just didn't fancy trying to balance on a descent down it. Would love to do it on a single day trip though. Same with Striding Edge on Helvellyn.
And I missed out on the Sharp Edge ale, finished too early for beer (inb4 never too early). Lovely pub though, low ceilings, cozy fireplace, friendly staff. Looks like it used to be some sort of fox hunting meetup place, they had old photos on the wall of some guys outside the pub in hunting getup surrounded by dozens of hounds.
But yeah, absolutely gorgeous part of the Lakes that I've never really explored before. Probably gonna head to the Dales for the next trip, but next one in the Lakes might be Skiddaw.
