You have got to know how to shoot, wait for a good shot, and have the patience to track a deer for miles if something goes bad. If you hunt in the snow the tracking is easier for those less experienced. My worst kill I had to track for 3 hours and come back the next morning but it was actually close to where I was sitting and just lost me in a bog before ditching under a tree. The reason the shot was bad was due to the difference between practice tips and broad heads, and I modified my shooting accordingly.
