>Wow ESEE looks like some well made reputable knives
>Steel so soft it dulls widdling sticks
Why the fuck can't I just not find a good affordable bushcraft knife. I really wanted to get an ESEE but after doing my research it makes sense why they have a "no questions asked" warranty, their steel is so cheap and poorly heat treated it can't hold an edge for shit. Half of the ESEE photos I see online look like pic related and I don't think are used extensively. I'll admit they look cool and it's why I wanted one.
What are some affordable knives similar to an ESEE 6 that will actually hold an edge and isn't overhyped bullshit? I was looking at Cold Steel SRK in SK5 but those have some delicate tips but honestly, it seems like a better option to buy an affordable SRK and just regrind the tip when it breaks or intentionally break it off. I'm not spending $200 on some "professional bushcraft knife" because I think that's retarded. Don't say Mora because I already have one and I want something with a little more heft and blade length to it.
