I'm new to this. On a whim I went out to buy a one man tent and last weekend I went out on my bike. I cycled as far as I could in one direction and then tried to set up my tent in a field. It was a bit windy and the ground was rock solid. I couldn't get any of the pegs in the floor. I spent about an hour moving the tent about trying to pin it down but eventually I gave up and found a room at a B&B nearby.
So my question is how do I set up a tent on hard earth? Is there an alternative to pegging it down? I dont visit /out/ so sorry if this is a dumb question.
