Since you're goin with a girl who also knows fuck all about camping, I'll assume it's probably gonna be camping out of a car or something similar and not full-on backpacking off the trails into wilderness camping.
>Use dry wood to start fires, that's: first lighting tinder or dry small stuff like grass, moss, pine needles, cotton balls, just to get her going, then kindling (twigs and shit) then larger logs
>It helps to have a pile of auxillary wood to keep by the fire so you don't have to go searching for more in the middle of the night when you run out (also keeping it by the fire helps dry out any possibly damp wood)
>Put that shit out the next day by pouring water on it and stirring the ashes several times, somtimes coals are still red hot and buried even after it's been out for several hours.
>Make sure to get to your campsite while you still have daylight, setting up camp in the dark sucks
>bring water for washing your hands and shit, cuz your hands get kinda dirty even just from gathering kindling, and you wouldn't wanna give your lady a yeast infection

You really didn't specify the deets of the camping, and if it's just car camping, just have shit to keep yourselves entertained when you're not cooking or tending to the fire really.
