The only reason why premiere ultra top end (or whatever) backpacks do not have them is because they are designed for long distance/long duration hikers who have to maximize carrying capacity and weight above all else, including organization or ease of access. If you're doing 3-5 days or less, or if you are going long distance but have consistent resupply points, than you don't have to prioritize carrying capacity to such an extreme and can instead increase your focus somewhat on organization and ease of access.
This is not a difficult concept so I really don't understand why there are people in this thread who cannot grasp it.
