>>1523813>It's a shame he was willing to kill indiscriminately. I respect his ideology but I can't abide the killing shit.Ted, and others like him who pull these stunts, know that there is propaganda in the deed. It is not an old concept either. Ted is a trained academic who has been published on multiple occasions. He understood that just publishing the manifesto without some kind of radical action surrounding it would be just another pamphlet floating around that only the fringe would be aware of. If Ted simply took a passive approach he would just be another well armed nut living in the woods with something to say that the rest of the modern world can brush away. What is the only logical course for a radical who wants his voice heard to take? Violence of action. Something that shocks the conscience of the modern man so horribly that it causes him to pay attention. For Anarchists in France it was throwing bombs into bourgeois cafes in Paris. For the communists it was red banners, rifles, and firebombs in the streets. For the Fascists and Nazis it was a unique aesthetic the was the basis of the movement and kicking the shit out of communists in the streets. For Ted? Mailing intricate pipe bombs to unwitting technophiles who live their lives in complacency. Without that act of violence you'd be entirely unaware of his actions. You may not like the killing but it sure as shit got your attention, and the attention of the world. In the short term it costed Ted his freedom, but in the long view of things his work will be memorialized in history. There have been many attempts to rationalize his behavior through phycology, but these fall short because they don't see the simple, horrifying, beauty in what mailing a pipe bomb does to get a message across.
