As I said before, you almost never truly need to baton wood, it's mostly people farting around in their backyard because they think it's fun, but then you have all these people giving in advice on the internet, "oh you need this knife so you can baton wood." like it's some holy grail of knife use.
So you end up with people buying goofy, heavy shit like this, because they think prying with a knife and batoning with a knife is actually something you should be EXPECTING and WANTING to do, instead of something you to because it's your last ditch choice.
And the biggest problem, besides the extra weight, is that the blade is so thick they cut like ass, which is the primary function of a knife.
