>>1118120You might want to give modern(!) military boots a try, they're not as stiff and rigid any more as they were in the 70s or so.
Used to have the 2002 German model since conscription days for over 10 years before the inside leather gave up.
Then last year bought myself the follow up (2005) model and have been content with them since pretty much the first day, barely took time to break in (there is some padding), comfy AF especially with my rather broad feet.
Also thanks to mass production they weren't too expensive either (€105).
Only downside for some may be the weight, at my size (EU47) they're a combined ~2.4kg (~5.3lb) and height is about ~27cm (~10.6"), but being 1.90m (~6'3) tall, I really barely notice it at all
