I absolutely agree with yuo that climate change played a major role in the desiccation of North Africa. But to say that human activities did not matter flies against all of the current experience in the Sahel and Central Asia. Neolithic cultures are more than capable of shaping their environment; see the spread of Indo-European pastoralists in the Chalco/Neolithic via the corded ware, bell-beaker, battle-axe cultures and more. See also the Maori logging of forests for agricultural land. See also the tradition of American cultures in the Pampas and North American plains to burn vegetation for game drives and ungulate habitat creation, a form of low-intensity pastoralism. All the globalists and leftists seem to think climate change and desertification is a critical threat to the entire continent of Africa. The only reason you disagree with me when I say it is because I acknowledge that the character of the people living there plays a role in its climate change.
