are you backpacking or car camping?
If you're used to hiking it should be a natural transition to backpacking, and you should already have most of the stuff (headlamp, waterfilter, cooking set, first aid). Then you should only need to pick up overnight gear (tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad)
If you're car camping then it doesn't really matter anyways just do whatever you want you can even order a god damn pizza if you forget to bring food (true story, that's what one of my friends did when she went ""camping"" for the first time and forgot to bring utensils)
