A splitting maul is essential kit for anyone wanting firewood. Its as important as having a good chainsaw. Just to show what having a maul for splitting is so valuable. I uploaded a picture of the firewood shed of some other relatives that i cut timber for every winter.
now this was a good size tree. It was a conifer or some evergreen. Which means a nice soft wood. Which is easy on the saw and chain. But can be very knotty when splitting.
so i fell, delimbed, cut the tree up. Split and wheelbarrowed , and stacked all this by myself in one day. Without the maul, there was no way I could have done so much
