It's not natural forest. It's forestry plantation.
Almost exclusively conifer such as Norwegian spruce.
Look at the amount of natural woodland in the UK. It's shockingly low. Something like only 2% of total wooded areas.
I'm also extremely dubious that woodland levels are at doomeday levels. Boreal forest used to cover 80% of scotland. Now only 1%.
I can only imagine they've reached this conclusion based on the number of trees. These forestry plantations are densely packed.
