As soon as the sky starts to get lighten up I awake and break camp within like 10 mins. I've used a tent to hike too and when you are inside a tent your mornings can look more like
>sleep until you wake naturally at 7am>snooze more because your sleeping bag is so warm and you dont want to leave>eventually slowly dress yourself and eat breakfast while you break camp>start walking by 0815 vs.
>super aware of surroundings>somehow sense that dawn is coming (idfk how)>slide out of the bivy and dress yourself as fast as you can before the sun comes up>break camp within 15 mins and start walkingIt's a little thing that leads to a huge difference when hiking. I still use tents occasionally but if I am trying to do big miles or am in an area where it won't be too rainy I always grab the bivy first.
