I have read this book and it's sequels a dozen times over front to back. If you have read Walden or The Mountain Men then this book is for you.
A young boy in upstate New York escapes his cramped life and lives in the wilderness with his pet peregrine falcon "Frightful".
most of the story is a flashback, but it is fantastic and a great read for children and adults.
