>>1014534nah, i had circle hooks but rushed out of the house to meet my brother at the pond and forgot them. ended up tying on these premade leaders ive had forever but never used. i know luke always says not to set the hook, just real down after they commit, but i thought maybe that was only with circle hooks. pic related is pretty close to what i was using. should i let them take it until my rod stays down? do i still set the hook with these?
>>1014535pic related. if that doesnt give you an idea, hook was about the size of a standard bic lighter. biggest hook i own. i tried a few diffrent sizes of cut bait. started with inch wide slices of bluegill, then worked my way down to cubes, threw worms on, everything i could think of. only one i actually caught was on a full bluegill steak. lots of bites on everything though. think i was just fucking up by either not setting the hook, or trying to set the hook. not sure which.
