However, some float, others do not. If you're on water often, might consider one of the intrisically floaty ones.
Mine requires a floaty-pouch to float (got one (two, actually) anyways, it's how I strap it to my pack(s)).
The ResQLink Plus floats w/out the pouch, but it's also a touch bigger than my ResQLink.
I don't think saltwater will affect it, but it'd probably be worth hosing it off with clean water at the end of the day.
