You'll probably be good in a sedan for winter, but I only know Midwest weather not PNW. Someone was afraid to drive their old F150 through a field of tall grass+weeds, bumps, and hills to a creek one time so I drove us in my Scion xB. Trucks/SUVs are probably nicer in winter, but knowing how to drive in snow and ice seems to be more important. If there is like a foot+ of snow something other than a sedan may be better though.
