>>2638709I always get much smaller than the ones that come stock. eliminates tangles/snags, and I honestly have less fish get off. rapalas especially seem to have oversized hooks stock. there are some tricks to get trebles cheaper instead of paying out the ass for "specialty" ones. buy a bunch of cheap small hardbaits, it's cheaper than just the trebles alone. I like the ones that come on pic rel for smaller hardbaits. granted, they're not big enough for some baits, or the highest quality, but they're sharp and don't bend out easily. those lures are like $1.25 at walmart. the hook size is good for 2" cranks and jerkbaits the size of the rapala ultra light minnows. I've caught a lot of bass near the 5lb mark and never bent one out. plus, those little crankbaits themselves are really good once you tune them. most of the time they don't swim straight out of the package.
