But it's a bridge you must inevitably cross if you wish to anything more than a successively older iteration of your high-school self.
I've been where OP is before, talking to girls is fucking hard when you've got no sexual self confidence. Everything seems harder when you're missing out on what you think is vital part of the human experience. But once it clicks, it clicks.
My only advice is find something you like/are good at. Work at it, practice it everyday, learn all you can know about this one particular thing. Then keep doing it until it is as natural as breathing, keep doing it until you can literally talk for hours about this one part of your life that you hold near and dear. Find a place to do it and people to do it with. At some point you will feel more at home doing this thing than anywhere else.
That is the feeling that you need to replicate if you want to be successful in life. It isn't easy to transfer that feeling of well oiled confidence over to the other aspects of your life but you will get there eventually, and once you've got that, everything else should follow.
