These are some other good American fixed blade makers, not a blanket recommendation, they all make good knives and some not so good knives. A lot of them have an issue with making knives too thick, especially at the edge, Buck is good about that normally.
Becker/Ka-bar; Ontario (OKC), Tops (bit more pricey), Kershaw is making some good small ones, Esee of course, Bark Rivers and Blackjacks are beautiful but expensive, Bradford is a new company making some waves, and I'm kind of expecting Cold Steel to start introducing a premium USA line sooner or later. And there are a lot of good smaller makers but they typically are in the $200+ range, like Brous Blades. I'm a big fan of Gavko, but his stuff is getting really expensive and he is making more EDC folders now a days.
