I have a few questions lads.
First of all pic related is one of my old nasturtiams that was planted 2 months ago in the green house and moved inside under the grow light because it seemed to be growing too slow and in the back are nasturtiams I grew under the grow light which were sown 3 weeks ago. I have 2 qs.
1. Is it just me or are these growing particularly slow for nasturtiams?
2. Ive also had trouble germinating them and the ones in the background were a test where I tried 4 seeds of 2 varieties I bought on each recommended method (regular sewing, scarified and soaked) and honestly the results are inconclusive.
Regular sewing yielded 1 of my mahogany jewel and 3 of my ladybird.
Soaking yielded 2 of my mahogany jewel and 0 of my ladybird
Scarification yielded 1 mahogany jewel and 0 ladybird.
Overall out of my mahogany jewel only 4 germinated and only 3 of my ladybird germinated.
Im starting to wonder if these are just bad seeds or am I doing something wrong?
The original ones I planted in greenhouse germinated slowly too and they had loads of light and heat and were kept moist yet had low rate of germination. I thought nasturtiams were going to be an easy plant.
I live in Ireland btw.
