>>2217190At the very least I carry a handgun. Depending on where I'm going and what I'm doing, I may bring a rifle or shotgun. Typically just a pistol unless I'm hunting though. Worst I'd encounter in my neck of the woods are black bears, small-to-medium wild cats like a mountain lion and/or feral dogs that have taken to attacking humans. Most of those are avoidable and typically do not like to interact with or stalk humans.
