It’s pretty rare though. There’s something like 1,500 reported brown recluse spider bites a year, but something like 3/4 of them are false reports. Black widows are like 2,500, and honestly I’ve seen way, way more of them at work (industrial environments) than I have in the woods.
Snake bikes are super rare as well. There are like 7,000 bites a year and only a handful of deaths. I wanna say 10. Maybe it’s 5? It’s super low.
You’re much, MUCH more likely to end up with a seriously sprained joint or severe dehydration or heat exhaustion, but those things aren’t as fun to talk about as animal attacks.
