>>2018096I don't personally have experience with either of those packs, but after looking at them here are my thoughts: For the price of the HMG Daybreak you may also want to check out the Pa'lante packs 'Joey'. I just recently bought one and it's a beauty. It's set up like a runners/fastpacking vest. I also have the plain and simple Osprey day pack which I find myself using often. Both HMG and Granite Gear are good companies and I don't think you would be disappointed with either if that's what you choose to go with.
