Honestly for shore fishing, don’t go to huge lakes and popular spots, try to find those suburban ponds and lakes where fishing isn’t technically allowed but won’t get you arrested, you will probably land some bass at dusk. The smaller ponds are much easier from shore, go at dusk and try to find where the drop offs are, you will get bass and other predators coming up from the deeper water to catch dinner. Mepps and rooster tails, Original Rapalas or Husky Jerks, maybe some jigheads with curly tail grubs are nice and easy to use and catch fish on
