I've worn them in just about every condition you can think of, sand, snow, ice, mud and never once fallen on my arse or felt like i'm going to fall. Sure there are boots with a deeper tread that work better on mud but they suffer on ice. IMHO these are a good general design. Vibram soles on the other hand are death traps on ice or wet rock.
