I'm guessing your toes are getting purple when you're walking in the snow all day? If I'm right, get some insulated snow shoes. Most importantly, save as much of that money as you can. If you don't know what gear you need right now, it's because you don't need it yet. You'll know during whatever /out/ activity you enjoy what you'll need next time, that's how I've collected my gear. I may be camping and thing "cooking on a jet burner would be way quicker and easier than cooking on a fire." So when I got home I bought a cheap one. But yea, saving your money should always be your first priority, my great grandmother always said "pay yourself first".
