you are fucking wasting good steel. I would slap you in the face if you put something like AEB-L in a ghetto ass contraption like that.
AEB-L can take the finest edge in the world and you are throwing it into a fucking grill where you can be 400 fucking degrees off on your heat treat making your blade a 2/10 instead of a 10/10.
You are essentially putting hours of work into a knife. and literally ruining it completely in the last step.
the fact that "it gets hard hur durr it works gud" has no actual meaning. You need to get that shit professionally heat treated.
If not , you need to use steels that are good for home/ghetto heat treat. Which the best is 1084 , a eutectoid steel. You cant really fuck that up.
But the steels you are using ARE getting fucked up by your half assed heat treat.
