PAE is the contractor service most people work under, but I think you can get hired directly by the US Antarctic program for jobs like janitor, galley worker, shuttle (taxi) driver etc. You're much more likely to get hired with a specific skill though. I think the custodial/galley jobs are pretty competitive, I know most people who get hired for those jobs have something unique about them (presumably because you stand out?).
