>>2254228I’ve been living in the Tongass for about 7 months (Prince of Wales). Fishing is good in the spring and summer, alpine hunting in the summer and rut in the fall are worth coming for if you’re into that. Great berry and mushroom foraging in the summer and fall. Not the easiest environment to hike and there’s a ton of rain. There’s also a lot of places you need a boat or plane to reach but overall it’s pretty sick. I’d recommend prince of Wales bc of road access + more accessible recreation sites and amazing fishing and hunting. Good look OP
